The TacDesk way

Rota & scheduling

Build the rota once and it checks itself: double-bookings, uncovered shifts and guards without the right licence get flagged as you assign them, not discovered on the night.

Availability: On every plan, TacFree included

You build next week's rota in a spreadsheet, and it's already wrong: a guard double-booked across two sites, a shift with nobody on it, someone rostered on who let their SIA licence lapse last month.

What most firms do today

A spreadsheet, or a wall planner, updated by hand and shared by sending the latest version around. It works until someone edits an old copy, or a licence expiry nobody was tracking lines up with a shift nobody double-checked.

The gaps aren't obvious until the night the shift starts and the site has nobody on it — which is the worst possible time to find out.

How TacDesk does it

You build the rota by assigning guards to shifts and sites, same as you always did. The difference is what happens as you do it: TacDesk checks each assignment against the guard's other shifts, their SIA licence status, and the site's cover requirement, and flags a problem the moment it's created rather than the night it happens.

A double-booking gets caught when you make it, not when both sites call at once. A guard whose licence expires before the shift date gets flagged before they're rostered, not after. An uncovered shift stays visibly uncovered on the rota rather than quietly falling through.

Guards see their own shifts on their phone as soon as they're assigned, so confirming cover doesn't mean a round of phone calls.

Why it matters

Gaps get caught while there's time to fix them. A clash or a lapsed licence shows up when you're building the rota, not when a guard doesn't turn up.

It stops you rostering someone who shouldn't be on shift. Licence checks run against the rota automatically, so a compliance gap doesn't have to wait for someone to notice.

Guards know what they're working without asking. The rota is on their phone the moment it's built, which means fewer "am I in Tuesday?" messages for someone in the office to answer.

Where it sits

Every plan, TacFree included. Rota building and its clash/licence checks are included across TacFree through TacCommand — it isn't gated behind a paid add-on, because a rota that doesn't flag its own gaps isn't worth building.
