Cookie Policy
Last updated: 21 July 2026
1. Introduction
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. TacDesk uses cookies to keep you logged in, remember your preferences, and ensure the platform operates correctly. This policy explains which cookies we use and why.
We do not use cookies for advertising, and we do not sell your data or share it with advertising networks.
2. Essential Cookies
Essential cookies are necessary for the platform to function. They cannot be disabled without breaking core functionality.
wordpress_logged_in_*
Set by WordPress to maintain your logged-in session. Expires when you log out or your browser session ends.
wp-settings-*
Set by WordPress to store personalised settings for the WordPress administration interface.
Billing portal session
A session cookie used to maintain your authenticated state within the billing portal. This cookie expires when you close your browser or log out.
wordpress_sec_*
A security cookie set by WordPress to validate login credentials and prevent unauthorised access.
3. Functional Cookies
Functional cookies remember your preferences to improve your experience on the platform.
tacdesk_consent
Records whether you accepted or declined analytics cookies, so we do not ask again on every page. This cookie is set on our marketing website regardless of your choice — without it we could not honour that choice. Expires after 1 year.
tacdesk_nl
Notes that our newsletter invitation has already been shown to you, so it is not shown again. Contains no information about you. Expires after 24 hours.
User preferences: TacDesk may store interface preferences such as display settings locally in your browser. These are stored as browser localStorage entries rather than traditional cookies and remain on your device until cleared.
4. Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how our marketing website is used. These cookies are only set if you click “Accept” on our cookie banner. If you decline, or ignore the banner, no analytics cookies are set and no data is sent to Google.
Google Analytics does not receive or store your IP address. Your IP is used momentarily to derive an approximate location (country and region) and is then discarded — it is never recorded in our reports.
_ga
Distinguishes one visitor from another so we can count unique visits. Expires after 2 years.
_ga_*
Maintains analytics session state for our specific Google Analytics property. Expires after 2 years.
These cookies are governed by Google’s Privacy Policy. You can withdraw consent at any time by deleting the tacdesk_consent cookie via your browser settings (see section 6), which will show the banner again on your next visit.
5. Third-Party Cookies
When you make a payment through TacDesk, Stripe (our payment processor) may set cookies on your device to facilitate secure payment processing and fraud prevention. These cookies are governed by Stripe’s Privacy Policy.
We use HubSpot, our customer relationship management platform, to understand which pages a visitor viewed before contacting us, so that we can respond in context. HubSpot cookies are only set if you click “Accept” on our cookie banner. If you decline, HubSpot does not load at all.
hubspotutk
Identifies a visitor so that a later form submission can be linked to their earlier visits. Expires after 6 months.
__hstc
Records the visitor’s first visit, most recent visit, and visit count. Expires after 6 months.
__hssc
Tracks page views within the current visit. Expires after 30 minutes of inactivity.
__hssrc
Notes whether the visitor restarted their browser. Expires when your browser session ends.
These cookies are governed by HubSpot’s Privacy Policy.
We do not embed third-party social media widgets or advertising networks.
6. Managing Cookies
You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Please note that disabling essential cookies will prevent you from logging in to TacDesk or using core platform features.
