New Add-On: SIA Licence Tracking — Automated Monitoring and Expiry Alerts
TacDesk’s new SIA Licence Tracking add-on monitors guard licence status and sends automated alerts before licences expire.

Never Deploy an Unlicensed Guard
For ACS compliance, this is important. Deploying a security operative without a valid SIA licence is a criminal offence. It can result in prosecution of both the individual and the company, loss of ACS accreditation, and devastating reputational damage. Yet keeping track of licence expiry dates across a team of guards is a genuine administrative challenge.
TacDesk’s new SIA Licence Tracking add-on automates this critical compliance task.
How It Works
When you add a guard’s SIA licence number to their TacDesk profile, the system:
- Records the licence details — number, type, and expiry date
- Monitors expiry dates — checking daily against the current date
- Sends graduated alerts — notifications at 90, 60, 30, 14, and 7 days before expiry
- Flags expired licences — clear visual warning on the guard’s profile and the compliance dashboard
Compliance Dashboard
The management dashboard includes a compliance overview showing:
- Total guards and their licence status (valid, expiring soon, expired)
- A timeline of upcoming expiries
- Guards without licence numbers recorded
- Licence types across your team (Door Supervisor, Security Guard, CCTV, etc.)
At a glance, you can see your entire team’s compliance status and identify who needs to renew.
Guard Notifications
Guards also receive notifications when their licence is approaching expiry. This encourages them to start the renewal process in good time — the SIA recommends applying for renewal at least 16 weeks before expiry.
ACS Support
For ACS-accredited companies, SIA licence compliance is a core assessment area. The tracking system provides the documented evidence that all operatives are licensed, that expiries are monitored proactively, and that your company has a system for ensuring compliance.
Why an Add-On?
SIA licence tracking is available as an optional add-on rather than a bundled feature because not all TacDesk users need it. Companies using TacDesk for internal security teams, or those in markets where SIA licensing doesn’t apply, can keep their interface focused on the features they use.
The SIA Licence Tracking add-on is available for all TacDesk plans. Try the demo to see licence tracking in action, or visit tacdesk.co.uk to add it to your subscription.
