Never Miss an MOT Expiry Again
If you run mobile patrols or alarm response, your vehicles are critical operational assets. A vehicle with an expired MOT is uninsured and illegal to drive. If a guard is involved in an accident in an MOT-expired vehicle, the liability for your company is enormous.
TacDesk now integrates directly with DVLA data to automatically monitor the MOT and road tax status of every vehicle in your fleet.
How It Works
Add your vehicles to TacDesk by entering their registration numbers. The system automatically queries DVLA records and retrieves:
- MOT status — valid or expired, with expiry date
- MOT history — previous test results and advisory items
- Road tax status — taxed or untaxed, with expiry date
- Vehicle details — make, model, colour, fuel type, CO2 emissions
This data refreshes automatically, so you always have the current status without manual checking.
Expiry Alerts
The system generates alerts at configurable intervals before expiry:
- 30 days before — advance warning to schedule the MOT or tax renewal
- 14 days before — reminder to take action
- 7 days before — urgent alert
- Expired — vehicle flagged as non-compliant
Fleet Dashboard
The fleet overview shows all vehicles at a glance with clear status indicators — green for compliant, amber for approaching expiry, red for expired. You can see your entire fleet’s compliance status in seconds.
Vehicle Defect Reports
Alongside DVLA integration, guards can submit vehicle defect reports through TacDesk — reporting damage, mechanical issues, or safety concerns with photos. Management receives these instantly and can decide whether to take the vehicle off the road.
Why This Matters
Fleet compliance is a legal requirement, not a nice-to-have. DVLA integration removes the risk of human error — no forgotten spreadsheet updates, no missed renewal dates. The system watches your fleet so you don’t have to.
DVLA integration is available as an add-on for TacDesk Professional and Enterprise plans. Try the demo to explore fleet management features.
