What Is TacDesk?
TacDesk is a guard management platform for UK security companies. It replaces the spreadsheets, WhatsApp groups, and paper timesheets most operations still run on with one system: GPS clock-in, patrol checkpoints, incident reports, and shift management, all timestamped and exportable as client-ready reports. It's built in Cambridge, UK, specifically around UK manned guarding, SIA licensing, and how UK contracts actually get audited.
If you're reading this because "GuardTek" came up in a search, here's the short version: GuardTek is a global enterprise platform under the Trackforce group. TacDesk is a UK-built, transparently priced alternative aimed at SIA-licensed security companies who don't want to go through an enterprise sales process to find out what something costs.
What Is GuardTek?
GuardTek is a field security software platform, one of three brands (alongside TrackTik and Silvertrac) now operated by Trackforce, a global security workforce management company. Trackforce's own site states GuardTek is offered "EMEA only" as a regional product, distinct from TrackTik's global coverage.1
Trackforce, across its combined brands, states on its own site: 30,000+ protected sites, coverage in 72 countries, a 4.6/5 customer rating, 150+ field features, 20+ operational modules, and 40+ years of company experience.1 These are company-wide figures for the Trackforce group, not GuardTek in isolation, and the source does not break them out by brand.
GuardTek's listed features include checkpoint verification (NFC tags, QR codes, GPS-triggered scans), a live GPS "Command Center" with coverage heat maps and location playback, push-to-talk radio-style communication, live video streaming on alarm ("GuardCam"), lone-worker protection with a panic button and fall detection, a mobile app for incident reporting and visitor and asset management, and scheduling with time and attendance tracking.12
Trackforce does not publish pricing for GuardTek. Both pages checked route enquiries to a demo request rather than showing rates or plans.12 Neither page reviewed mentions SIA licensing, ACS accreditation, or BS 7858 vetting, the compliance frameworks UK security companies are actually audited against.2

The Honest Summary
GuardTek, through Trackforce, is a large, established platform built for security operations worldwide. If you need one system across dozens of countries, that scale is the point.
Most UK security companies aren't running a global operation. They're running a manned guarding business that has to pass an SIA audit, keep clients happy with a clean report, and not lose money on software built for a much bigger buyer. TacDesk is built for that company specifically: UK compliance built in rather than absent, and pricing you can see before you talk to anyone.
