Built for Guards, Not Just Managers
Most guard management software focuses on what managers need. TacDesk is different — we built the guard experience first. Because if guards don’t use the system, the data managers rely on doesn’t exist.
The TacDesk guard app runs on any smartphone — Android or iPhone — through the browser or as an installed app. No special hardware required.
What Guards Can Do
Clock In and Out
One tap to clock in with GPS verification. One tap to clock out. Their shift status is always visible at the top of the screen. Simple, fast, and verifiable.
File Incident Reports
Structured report forms guide guards through capturing all essential details. Attach photos directly from the camera. Reports are GPS-tagged and timestamped automatically.
View Shift Schedule
Guards see their upcoming shifts clearly — date, time, site, and any special instructions. No more ambiguity about when and where they’re working.
Scan NFC Checkpoints
During patrols, guards tap their phone against NFC tags placed around the site. Each scan is recorded with a timestamp and location, building a verifiable patrol record.
Respond to Check Calls
When the automated check call system pings them, guards respond with a single tap confirming they’re safe and alert. It takes seconds and provides critical welfare verification.
View Site Information
Guards can access site-specific information including emergency procedures, key contacts, and special instructions — all from their phone.
Designed for Real Conditions
We know guards often work in poor conditions — cold, dark, wet, wearing gloves. The TacDesk interface is designed with large tap targets, high contrast, and minimal typing required. Most actions are a single tap.
The app also works offline. If a guard loses signal during a patrol, they can still file reports and scan checkpoints. The data syncs automatically when connectivity returns.
No Training Needed
Guards typically learn the app within their first shift. The interface is intuitive enough that even guards who aren’t tech-confident can use it comfortably. This matters — if a system needs a training course, adoption will be poor.
Privacy Considered
TacDesk only tracks guard location during active shifts. When a guard is clocked out, no location data is collected. Guards can see exactly what data is recorded about them through their profile.
